A Good Week

Design, Production & Management

Intro

What does ‘good’ mean to you? Well that’s exactly what Richard Branson was asked when he was interviewed by A Good Week, a global celebration of all things ‘good’ in the world.

Social change and sustainability has fast become a defining factor of ‘good’ business, and it’s really important to us too, hence why when we were approached by the team at averygoodcompany.org to implement their new website and strategy for engaging audiences – we jumped at the chance!

The Work

This site had to be good! As a portal for both users and potential sponsors the visuals had to reflect the core values of A Very Good Co. which we achieved by maintaining a consistent friendly and colourful visual style throughout the site.

Separating all of the content into sensible sections was important to this campaign, users needed to easily identify and find their area of interest. We implemented a number of ways to navigate the site and find something Good to do. As well as separating the site content via a clean navigation we also implemented search and filter functions to make finding an event or workshop near you as easy as possible.

A Good Week 1

We implemented an engagement app called the ‘good-o-meter’ which allowed audiences to record their good acts across the week and publish them to social networks – virally raising awareness of the campaign and giving users gratification to do more. A Good Week required a lot of rich media content to be included, which called for some HTML5 wizardry; Vimeo content and social media feeds were all integrated into one beautiful package.

As a dynamic event with lots of content to be continually updated, the provision of an easy to use CMS for the AGW team was essential. Our system allowed for easy updating of video and copy content for the blogs and events as well as external link tracking functions.

A Good Week 2

Support

Aside from our ideas and a friendly voice on the end of the phone we also provide the hosting infrastructure for the site. Robust hosting is certainly is something to consider when you’re featured on Virgin websites and tweeted by Richard Branson.

Results

A Good Week was featured on Virgin News Top News and received thousands of vistors and participants. Both we and AGW were pleased with how well the site turned out (they even sent us some AGW goodies).
